LSG Sky Chefs - International Flight Kitchens

Austin AECOM was awarded a three-year contract for a $300,000,000 Capital Management Program with LSG Sky Chefs. Austin AECOM provided consulting, capital expenditure planning, engineering, construction management, program management and Design-Build services for 90 domestic and 40 international flight kitchens. Initial projects included Miami, New York, Minneapolis, Charlotte, Dallas, Cleveland and Portland.

LSG Sky Chefs is a Dallas-based firm providing meals to airlines in 140 locations. Their facilities reside in the United States, South & Central America, New Zealand, and Australia. With 13,000 employees, they represent a major player in the airline catering business.

In June 2000, LSG Sky Chefs selected Austin AECOM, as the Program Director for their entire capital expenditure program worldwide. Over the next three years, Austin AECOM executed all facilities and equipment-related projects ranging in size from $10,000 to $20,000,000 and possibly larger. Annual facility capital expenditures were forecasted at $80,000,000. Austin AECOM distributed their effort to make best use of regional office locations. Other AECOM sister companies were included for environmental support and maintenance services.
