University of Chicago Ricketts Lab

The University of Chicago, under a grant from the National Institute for Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), is building a regional biohazard laboratory. The laboratory will be located at Argonne National Laboratory. The laboratory includes office areas, Biosafety Level 2 laboratories, Biosafety Level 3 laboratories, and animal holding and procedure rooms. Construction is under way and is scheduled to be complete by mid-2008.
Austin AECOM is providing program management services as Owner’s Representative for the University of Chicago. These services include coordination between the University’s project manager and the design and construction teams; review of the construction schedule on an ongoing basis; review of change order requests; representation of the University at construction meetings; monitoring the progress of the work; and coordination between the design and construction teams and the independent commissioning authority.
