Austin AECOM completed a new aircraft completion, modifications and refurbishment facility for Gore Design Completions. The 120,000-sq-ft facility will house a hangar, shop and offices. The state-of-the-art facility is located at KellyUSA, formerly Kelly Air Force Base, in San Antonio, Texas.
The completed hangar is capable of holding a B747-400 and a B767-300 simultaneously, and is the largest of its kind in the completion and refurbishment business in North America.
"This new building will give us the opportunity to consolidate our operations into one facility and control our own destiny," said president and CEO Jerry Gore. The new hangar also provides Gore room for future growth.
Gore Design had been working in a leased hangar at San Antonio International Airport for three years previously to moving into their new accommodations in 2004.
Gore Design Completions offers "concept to completion" turnkey interior design and engineering capabilities. The company’s manufacturing shop is virtually self-supporting with capabilities for cabinet fabrication, sheet metal parts fabrication, machine shop and complete upholstery shop. |
